The client started off with a simple brief of a 4 BHK house with a home theatre, located in a society in Ahmedabad, the challenge being the small plot size. The client wanted a warm yet elegant bungalow that didn’t look loud to the context but at the same time gave out a statement. Just as the name suggests, we designed this house with the sole purpose of the elevation being quietly loud. The basic plan of the house, resides 4 bedrooms, a lounge, a terrace, and a home theatre. The use of curve on the elevation wall not only breaks the monotony of the straight cubical spaces of the house but provides
the elevation with a subtle ostentatious touch.
The house is finished in Italian marble, and dark wood gives the entire house a very warm vibe, making the residents feel calm and composed at all times. Limiting ourselves to very few materials, we designed this house with minimalism and modernism in mind. The emphasis on each and every detail of all elements of the house makes this rather unique in terms of design. The subtle use of grooves over the dark wood clubbed with the veins of the Italian marble give a contrasting vibe which is also supported by the curves in the house.
The presence of small sitting spaces, in and around the house and the warm nature of the lighting provides for a very comfortable and welcoming environment. The use of glass mosaic in bathrooms, further adds to the simplicity and elegance of the home. All said, the house forms over a very basic yet important saying of “Form Follows Function”, and provides the utmost level of comfort, both to the viewers or guests and the residents.
